My super awesome regular crew finally got time to go. Alex O’s favorite thing to say is that “you can’t catch anything without me”, so I had to test the theory. Turned out to be true. Off we go South Bay for the last 3 hours of incoming and as much outgoing as we can handle.
About an hour in I get a bite! Good decent sturgeon bite on grass shrimp! Fish on!
Ended up being 3 inches shorter than 40. Had to let it go. Well, at least I finally got a sturgeon!
Incoming was over. Changed bait regularly. Nada.
One third water gone on the outgoing we started getting some nibbles that looked like sturgeon tried the bait and spit it out. Hopes were going up a bit.
Finally Alex O gets bite! Fish on! Handled everything professionally and we got a 43 incher in the boat.
Yay! Fish soup tonight!
This was the first good trip of the year for me! Took us some time!
